Education, training and conference tool specialists AClass Technology have launched EzPad, a tool that lets users write as normal on ordinary paper and have their handwritten notes and sketches automatically saved as text or graphics files.

EzPad captures and stores everything the user writes or draws with ink on paper up to A4 in size, without the use of a computer. The tool can then be connected to a PC or Mac via USB to instantly transfer, edit, manage and e-mail those notes and images.
The internal memory can store work in 26 directories of up to 99 pages each, and the extra memory SD slot can also act as an SD card reader.
Once connected to a PC or Mac, the EzPad also becomes a fully-functional input tablet for computer artists, graphic designers, photo editors and office and CAD/CAM applications. Optional third party software, such as Active Ink, makes it possible to use the EzPad for completing forms, giving users get a hard-copy and digital data in one go.
The EzPad, selling at around £149+VAT, comes bundled with software that allows handwritten notes to be edited, e-mailed or sent to a PDA, and with handwriting recognition software that intelligently transfers handwriting to text. The riteShapeT and riteScriptT technology also allowed shapes and complete charts to be stored with automatic adjustment and alignment of concentric shapes, connected lines, and adjacent shapes.
The tool takes four rechargeable AAA batteries and can also be powered via USB. It comes in a zip-up portfolio case.
